Report: Officer Justified in Shooting, Wounding Suspect

A robbery suspect was wounded in Henniker, NH, in Nov.

New Hampshire's attorney general says a Henniker police officer was justified in shooting and wounding a robbery suspect in November.

Attorney General Joseph Foster said an alert went out to law enforcement to be on the lookout for a man who committed a robbery in Franklin. According to the alert, 19-year-old Aaron Cadman was accused of stealing a truck and hitting the owner with it before driving off.

Foster says a Henniker officer spotted the truck on Route 202/9. As the officer pursued the truck, the truck collided with another vehicle.

Foster says Cadman refused to obey the officer's commands to show his hands. He says the officer believed Cadman was armed and fired at least one shot, striking Cadman in the arm. Cadman was treated for his injury.
