The sentencing date for the Danvers, Massachusetts, teenager convicted of raping and murdering his high school teacher has been pushed back.

According to the Boston Herald, the sentencing for Philip Chism has been pushed back to Feb. 26 from the original date of Jan. 29, after a request from a juvenile probation official.

Chism was convicted of aggravated rape, robbery and murder charges in the 2013 death of 24-year-old Danvers High School teacher Colleen Ritzer.

Chism, who is now 16, faces life in prison. He could be eligible for parole after 15 to 25 years because he was a juvenile at the time of the killing.

He also faces separate charges of attempted murder in a Boston court after he allegedly attacked a state youth services worker while awaiting trial.
