Police in Brockton, Massachusetts, say a man impersonated a police officer and robbed a man, according to the Brockton Enterprise.

The paper reports Michael Holodinski, 39, of Hull, was charged with impersonating an officer, armed robbery and possession of heroin.

They report a 25-year-old Quincy man was parked outside a friend's house in Brockton Wednesday night around 11:20, when a pick-up truck pulled up behind him.

Police say Holodinski got out of the truck and approached the victim while wearing a gold badge around his neck. He allegedly asked the victim to step out of his car and began to frisk him.

The victim noticed that the badge was not a Brockton Police badge and began to struggle, during which Holodinski told him he was assaulting an undercover officer.

Holodinski got back in his truck and drove off. The victim said his wallet and bank card were missing.

Holodinski was later pulled over. Police found heroin and a New Bedford police badge belonging to a relative of his.

He is expected to be arraigned in Brockton District Court Thursday.
