Vermont police say a Windsor man they believe shot and killed his estranged girlfriend is believed to have been spotted in two Massachusetts cities.

Necn affiliate WPTZ reports 27-year-old Jason Kendall was spotted in Springfield and Holyoke Monday.

Windsor police received a 911 call at about 7 a.m. Monday from a witness who reported hearing screams and gunshots near a location on Main Street.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Molly Helland, of Windsor. Helland, who had a child with Kendall, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Kendall fled the scene of the Monday morning shooting in downtown Windsor in a silver 1996 Honda Accord, which they believe now has Massachusetts license plate 842YM3 after they say he may have swapped license plates.

Police say Helland recently ended their relationship.

Anyone who spots Kendall or the vehicle is asked to call 911.
