Resident Finds Bottle Bomb in Mailbox

The device was detonated without incident

Police are investigating after a Hooksett, New Hampshire, resident reported finding what appeared to be a plastic bottle-type bomb in his mailbox on Tuesday.

Hooksett Police were called to 15 Ridgeview Drive on Tuesday for a report of a suspicious device. The caller said he found what appeared to be a bottle bomb in his mailbox. Upon arrival, police were able to confirm the device as a possible explosive and closed down a portion of Ridgeview Drive to traffic. 

The New Hampshire State Police Bomb Unit was called to the scene, and determined that the device was an "acid bomb," or "soda bottle bomb." It was detonated by the bomb unit and the incident remains under investigation.
