Police are warning residents after two dogs were attacked during the day

Authorities in Ashland, Massachusetts, are urging residents, especially those with dogs, to be on the lookout for coyotes.

Animal control officers received two reports on Wednesday of coyote attacks on small dogs in the area of Voyagers Lane and Hawthorne Road.

Both attacks occurred during daytime hours.

The dogs were reportedly unleashed at the time and attempted to chase the coyote.

People are being asked to call 911 immediately if they see any coyotes.
