Roof Worker Accused of Burglarizing Homes

A Medford, Massachusetts, roof worker is being held until his arraignment after allegedly robbing two homes while working in Bedford

A Medford, Massachusetts, roof worker is being held until his arraignment after allegedly robbing two homes while working in Bedford.

Police received a call to an address on Old Billerica Road at 1:10 for a report of a breaking and entering Thursday.

The resident told police they left home in the morning for a dentist appointment and returned to find their bedroom ransacked.

Police tracked down the suspect, 26-year-old Steven Butler, who was still working in the area. They observed several earrings and other items in the passenger seat of the vehicle he was sitting in.

Police say they found jewelry, electronics and pills in the vehicle and on Butler. Some of the items were determined to be from a second home.

Butler was charged with breaking and entering during the daytime, receiving stolen property and possession of a Class C substance.
