Police are investigating after the body of a man was found rotting in the back of a pickup truck parked in a development in New Britain.
Lt. Ben Murphy says the corpse was found around 9 a.m. Tuesday in the bed of a truck parked on Wainwright Drive in Industria Commons.
Officers were called to the scene after residents in the area began noticing a foul smell. Police say the vehicle may have been parked on the street for days.
Chief James Wardwell says there were no obvious signs of trauma on the body and the death does not appear to be criminal in nature. Police are waiting for an autopsy report to determine the cause and manner of death.
Police have identified the man but are withholding his name.
