Farmington Man Dies After Evading Police, Landing in Brook: Police

A 65-year-old Farmington man is dead after fleeing from state police who tried to stop him on Thursday, according to state police.

State police identified the driver as Ronald Utman and said he swerved into a brook in Andover and was killed in the crash around 1:30 p.m.

Prior to the crash, Utman was driving on Interstate 384 East in Manchester, went through a construction zone, hit several traffic barriers and ended up on Route 6 East in Andover, according to state police.

At the intersection of Burnap Brook Road, Utman went off the road, hit an embankment and landed in a brook, police said.

State troopers pulled him from the water and LifeStar helicopter brought him to the hospital, where he later died.

Police ask witnesses to the crash to call state police at 860-534-1006.
