A runner in the 2015 Boston Marathon was reunited with his wedding ring after it slipped off at mile 23 in the race, according to the Boston Globe.

Jeff Glaser lost the ring when he was taking off his gloves, the Globe reported. A search for the ring in the area, about three miles from the finish line, turned up nothing.

“I was a little upset that I had lost my ring, but I tried to keep it all in perspective,”  Glaser told the Globe. “There are a lot bigger problems than a missing wedding ring, especially when you consider what the city has been through the last few years.”

When he called race organizers later after finishing the race, he learned that another runner found the ring and brought it to the medical tent.

The 2015 Boston Marathon showcased other uplifting moments and triumphs.

Venezuelan runner Maickel Melamed, who has a form of muscular dystrophy, became the last finisher of this year's marathon Tuesday morning, crossing the finish line about 20 hours after he started.

Boston bombing survivor Rebekah Gregory DiMartino ran the last few miles of the marathon, just months after her leg was amputated.

Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia, who won the marathon in 2013 and donated his medal to the city after the deadly terrorist bombings, won the men’s race

Caroline Rotich of Kenya finished first in the women’s field.
