Sales Tax Holiday Arrives in Mass.

Some shoppers can expect to save some cash during this weekend's sales tax holiday

The annual sales tax holiday is upon us. Massachusetts shoppers will be hitting the stores this weekend to see how much they can save.

People looking to buy big ticket items, like refrigerators and other appliances, will not have to pay the usual 6.25% sales tax. While this may good for consumers, some are saying this will hurt Massachusetts in the long run.

"I expect to do about six weeks of business in two days," said Steve Sincoff of Yale Appliances and Lighting.

While consumers and retailers may enjoy the weekend, the state is the only one losing out.

Michael Widmore of the Mass. Tax Payers Association says the state may lose up to $25 million.
