School Officials Say Maine High School Student Expelled for Pot Brownies

The expulsion is indefinite, but the school will work on a re-entry plan

Officials say a Maine high school student was expelled for distributing brownies containing marijuana to classmates on school grounds.

Mt. Blue Regional School District Superintendent Tom Ward tells The Morning Sentinel the student was expelled from Regional School Unit 9 for passing out the brownies in December.

Ward says the student gave out brownies to at least two other students on the Farmington campus. Officials made the decision to expel the student on Tuesday.

He says the expulsion is indefinite, but the school will work with the student and his or her parents to create a re-entry plan.
