    A manhunt was underway for several hours on Wednesday night after a man with multiple outstanding warrants fled from police in Sharon, Massachusetts. (Published Thursday, May 18, 2017)

    A large search took place Wednesday for a man in Walpole and Sharon, Massachusetts, according to police.

    Authorities confirmed that the suspect, Jesus Reyes, has several outstanding felony warrants for armed robbery and initially fled from the Route 1 Econolodge in Sharon.

    According to the Walpole Police Department, a woman reported that Reyes threatened to take her hostage. She said she was in Reyes's car but exited it because she felt unsafe.

    Sharon police were also involved in the manhunt along with the Massachusetts State Police.

    Walpole police Chief John Carmichael said the suspect may have been spotted in the area of Old Post Road near Route 1, traveling on foot.

    Reyes was also possibly seen on Squire Court in Walpole, jumping fences to travel through backyards.

    Authorities searched by air and on the ground with flashlights and a K9 unit.

    At this time, Reyes is still at large.
