The search is on for a new headmaster for Boston Latin School, after the school's leader stepped down as the Justice Department investigates allegations of racism at the nation's oldest public school.

The Boston Herald reports that students will meet with Justice Department investigators Wednesday.

Their concerns came to light when two students with BLS B.L.A.C.K. posted a YouTube video criticizing the administration's reaction to multiple racism claims.

The students also highlighted what they said was a lack of inclusion at the school.

BLS B.L.A.C.K. President Meggie Noel said in the video said the resignation of Headmaster Lynne Mooney-Teta was not a victory.

"It's definitely a shocker. It does lead to a shift and a change in the administration," she said.

In a statement, Mooney-Teta said a new headmaster is in the school's best interest.

Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang said it was due to person reasons and she was not forced out.

An interim superintendent has not been chosen yet.

Necn has also reached out to the Boston NAACP chapter for comment, but we have not heard back.
