Second Carnival Incident in 2 Days Injures Woman

Less than 24 hours after three children were injured on a ride at the same carnival, a woman was hurt in an accident at the Head of Falls Park in Waterville, Maine, necn affiliate WCSH reports.

Emergency crews were called to the fair around 3:45 p.m. Saturday. According to a Maine State Fire Marshal, the woman was attempting to get off the ride before it had come to a complete stop.

The woman was loaded onto a backboard and taken by ambulance to MaineGeneral's Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.

The ride is now shut down pending an investigation by the State Fire Marshal's office. The rides are operated by a group called Smokey's Greater Shows.

The children's injuries were mostly superficial, fire officials told the Kennebec Journal. One was treated at Inland Hospital.
