Residents of the South Boston luxury condominium complex where two doctors were murdered last weekend met on Wednesday night to discuss security in the building.

The meeting at the Macallen Building was private but some residents who attended told NBC Boston that they felt reassured.

"I've never felt insecure in the properties at all," said Alex Lopez, who has lived with his family in the building since 2014.

Residents were shaken Friday night when police say Bampumim Teixeira killed doctors Richard Field and Lina Bolanos after he somehow got inside their penthouse condo on the 11th floor.

Lopez, who was among 200 residents at Wednesday's meeting, said he remembered seeing Teixeira around the property.

"There were questions about how to improve security, if security was really the problem. But apart from that, nothing else was really talked about. It was more about dealing with trauma," said Lopez.

NBC Boston learned that Teixeira worked as a concierge for Palladion Security Services at the property for approximately three weeks between October 2015 and April 2016.

"There wasn't anything about him that stood out. Positive or negative," recalled Lopez. "It's just a random horrible situation that's happened in our community."

NBC Boston asked some residents what they would do to improve security in the building and most talked about the keys they used and accessibility to certain areas.
