The sentencing of a Portland landlord who owned a building where six people died in a 2014 fire has been pushed back to later in the week.
Gregory Nisbet faces a maximum of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine following his conviction for a misdemeanor code violation.
WCSH reports his sentencing was scheduled for Tuesday morning but was postponed to Thursday afternoon. The postponement will allow family members to deliver victim impact statements.
Nisbet was found not guilty of manslaughter charges stemming from the fire last month. He was also acquitted of other lesser charges, but was convicted for not having adequate means of escape from third-floor rooms.
Prosecutors described the rooms as "death traps." The fire took place after a Halloween party in 2014.
