A North Attleboro, Massachusetts, sex offender was arrested after he allegedly exposed himself to a 13-year-old girl in a hotel hot tub.
Stan Shapiro, 56, of 10 Basswood Ave., is charged with open and gross lewd and lascivious behavior after the teenage girl told police he exposed his genitals to her in the hot tub of the Mansfield Holiday Inn on Hampshire Street on Friday.
The incident occurred between 4 and 6 p.m., but the teen didn't report it to her parents until later that night. Mansfield Police responded to the hotel but were unable to immediately locate the suspect.
Shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday, a hotel employee called police after seeing a man in the hot tub matching the description of the man from the previous evening's incident speaking with children in the hot tub.
When police arrived, the man attempted to leave the pool through a side exit door, but he was stopped and taken into custody.
Shapiro was brought to the Mansfield Police Department for booking, where it was determined that he was a Level 2 sex offender. He was arraigned on Monday in Attleboro District Court and released on $10,000 cash bail.
