Shooting in Boston Leaves One Dead

The individual has been transported for life threatening injuries.

A victim has died after being shot Thursday afternoon in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood.

Police confirmed the person was shot in the head near the intersection of Zeigler Street and Dearborn Street in Dudley Square.

The individual was transported for life threatening injuries, but has since been pronounced dead.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. A school bus was nearby at the time.

"Three students from the Harvard-Kent Elementary School and a driver were on board," the school district said in a statement. "Boston Public Schools is relieved to learn the students and the driver are OK. Crisis counselors will be available for the students tomorrow."

No arrests have been made so far and the police have no word on possible suspects.
