Shooting in Worcester Leaves One Injured

After the victim handed over his wallet, the suspect shot the victim and fled the area

Police responded to a gunshot victim in Worcester, Massachusetts, early Saturday morning.

Responders found a 28-year-old man in a parking lot in the area of Water Street and Grafton Street. The man appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening.

According to police, the victim was at a bar on Water Street earlier Friday evening, and walked to his car in the Canal Lofts parking lot. He was putting anti-freeze in his car when he was approached by a male suspect who pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim's wallet.

After the victim handed over his wallet, the suspect shot the victim and fled the area.

The suspect description is limited at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
