Signs Ask For Justice in Murder of Vanessa Marcotte

Signs have been placed on the town's Common and area where Marcotte was killed

While the search for a New York woman's killer is now in its seventh week, residents in Princeton, Massachusetts, are still haunted by her murder.

"Justice for Vanessa" signs have been placed on the town's Common as well as Route 68, the area where 28-year-old Vanessa Marcotte was killed on August 7.

Marcotte, who had been visiting her mother, went jogging and did not return. Her body was found about a half-mile from her mother's house in a wooded area on Brooks Station Road.

Investigators said Marcotte's body was naked and partially burned. They believe she had also struggled with her attacker.

Authorities believe the murder took place between 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Area residents are hoping the signs, which were just put up this week, will remind others of Marcotte's murder and keep the investigation going with fresh leads in order to help investigators find her killer.

More than 1,000 tips have been received in the case. Anyone with information is still being urged to call the police tip line at 508-453-7589.
