8-Year-Old Missing from Naugatuck Found Safe in Arizona

Eight-year-old Mariah Snyder, who was reported missing from Naugatuck in September was later found safe in Arizona, and Naugatuck police have arrested three family members in connection with the case.

Police said Snyder was reported missing after leaving her home with relative, Megan Mizell, 33, to visit another relative, Erika Mizell, 47, in Waterbury, and a Silver Alert was issued when Snyder did not return home.

Snyder was located unharmed in Arizona and police have filed charges against Erika Mizell, Megan Mizell and 47-year-old Daniel Mizell.

All three family members are accused of taking the child to Arizona without permission of another family member who adopted her, police said.

They have been charged with first-degree custodial interference, risk of injury to a child and second-degree reckless endangerment.
