Six people are safe after fire broke out at their Branford home after a plow driver who was passing by alerted them about alerted them that their house was burning.
Fire broke out around 4:09 a.m. at the apartment home at 223 East Main St. (Route 1). While the six adults living there got out safely, three cats died in the blaze.
Branford's fire marshal is investigating the fire.
