The sky today features a vivid contrast between heavy gray one minute and then blue sky the next. There's a lot of instability in the atmosphere creating these low-level clouds. Outside of a brief sprinkle, the day is dry with temperatures close to 70 degrees.
It is cooler at the shore with the light onshore breeze. For the Figawi sailboat race, we have variable wind at 10-15 miles per hour and light seas.
Beaches are partly to mostly cloudy with temperatures around 60 degrees, water temperature in the lower 50s.
At Fenway Park, the sky will be partly sunny, no heavy drizzle like yesterday, with a temperature falling from the 60s of the 50s and light wind.
In the mountains and at the lakes, it is mostly cloudy with the temperature in the 50s, though the summit of Mount Washington is only in the 30s with dense fog and a steady wind from the northeast.
The sun goes down after 8 p.m. and will feature a nice mix of cumulus clouds and blue sky. A brief glimpse of the new moon is possible just before it sets. It's Jupiter is the bright object in the southern sky this evening.
Temperatures overnight are kind of cool, in the 50s, and 40s in a few spots by morning, with patchy fog possible.

Tomorrow looks like a brighter and warmer day, with the sunshine factor closer to a 7 out of 10, and high temperature in the 70s. Once again, with light wind there will be a seabreeze with temperatures in the 60s at the beach.
The upper-level low pressure system that has been bringing us the clouds lifts out during the day tomorrow with weak high pressure allowing for the nicer weather.
A new upper level low pressure system digs into the Midwest during the day tomorrow and Monday. That will try and pull some hot weather from Texas toward New England, but it's not going to make it in. Instead a warm front will approach Monday morning with an area of rain and a thunderstorm and Western New England early.
Rain will diminish to showers and move east by midday and afternoon.
Many of the ceremonies in the eastern New England may get away with dry weather, but it looks wet in western New England.
Temperatures on Monday will get to the 60s briefly before falling back into the 50s.

Drier air is expected on Tuesday with a mixture of sun and clouds and temperatures in the 70s to near 80 degrees. Next week looks brighter and more seasonal with just scattered afternoon showers and temperatures mostly in the 70s.
