Snow Squall Causes Multiple Accidents on N.H. Highway

Minor injuries reported in up to 14 crashes

A snow squall and freezing temperatures are blamed for about 14 vehicle crashes, including an ambulance, on I-89 northbound in New Hampshire Friday night.

New Hampshire State Police responded to multiple accidents on the interstate between exits 15 and 17 at about 10 p.m. Police closed the highway for two hours while they responded to the accidents.

Police said the road conditions deteriorated quickly, sparking at least one rollover crash. The ambulance was struck by a car.

Several people were transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with minor injuries.

A number of drivers were issued summonses for driving too fast for the conditions.
