Southbridge School District Conducts Formal Review of Teachers

Twenty eight teachers in the Southbridge Public School District have been placed under review and could possibly be fired.

According to the telegram, the review process is targeting the teacher performance of the Southbridge educators. A spokesperson from the Department of Elementary and Secondary education confirmed if they do not see any progress the teachers could lose their jobs.

The Southbridge School District was thrown into the spotlight after a former middle school teacher’s was arrested and pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and attempting to purchase livestreaming sex shows involving young Filipino children.

The teachers chosen for review were selected based on prior evaluation and work history. The review is a two round process. Anyone who does not meet the district’s expectations at the end of review will be let go.
