“Spice” Dealer Arrested in NH

Recent overdoses on the synthetic marijuana called for a state of emergency

Pelham, New Hampshire, Police arrested a dealer of synthetic marijuana, commonly known as “spice” on Friday.

The search was expedited due to the recent rise in overdoses across New Hampshire, causing a state of emergency.

Christopher Matte, 43, is the owner of Ace Discount Cigarettes on Bridge Street in Pelham. An undercover officer was able to buy the substance from Matte directly on several occasions.

Police recovered $7,000 in cash, as well as 100 individual bags of synthetic marijuana.

Matte was charged with two counts of felony drug sales. He was held on $10,000 and posted bail. He is scheduled to appear in Salem District Court on September 22.

Additional arrests are expected.
