State Trooper Facing Sex Assault Charges

Christopher Kennedy, of West Springfield, was arraigned Wednesday in Hampshire Superior Court

A Massachusetts State Police trooper has been released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman he met on an online dating service.

Christopher Kennedy, of West Springfield, was arraigned Wednesday in Hampshire Superior Court on charges of indecent exposure, assault and battery, and indecent assault and battery.

The alleged crimes occurred in July in Worthington.

The 31-year-old Kennedy was also ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

A state police spokesman says Kennedy has been on restricted duty since July and in light of the arraignment has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of his case.

His lawyer had no comment.
