Stranded Shark Dies on Cape Cod

The organization, said that the 6'11" animal somehow became stranded in Ryder's Cove

A stranded porbeagle shark died in Chatham, Massachusetts on Friday despite rescue efforts, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

The organization, said that the 6'11" animal somehow became stranded in Ryder's Cove, an area of Pleasant Bay on Cape Cod.

The Conservancy, the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, and the Ryder's Cover Boatyard all attempted to rescue the shark for over two hours, but the animal died in the process.

The shark's brain will be tested in hopes of answers.
