The excitement over Sunday's NFL AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts is even reaching into the agricultural world. At Huntington Farm in South Strafford, Vermont, a 7-month-old filly named for the Patriots shares a stall with a colt, and is outnumbered by other colts in her barn.

The trainer of "Patriot Girl" believes the young female's dominance over the young male horses she lives with may be an indication of how the football game between the Patriots and Colts will turn out Sunday.

"Patriot Girl bosses them around," said horse trainer Deb Smith, a longtime Pats fan. "[The Patriots] are going to boss [the Colts] around!"

Smith, who has been wearing her lucky Patriots hat nonstop lately, said her filly is sharp and attentive, and hopes the New England Patriots display those same qualities on the field at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro Massachusetts during Sunday evening's game.

New England Cable News may also have discovered a trick to add to the playbook of Pats' head coach Bill Belichick: try distracting Indianapolis with a news station's tripod. It seemed to work on the South Strafford colts that were intent on sniffing, licking, and nipping at NECN's tripod.
