A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on drug charges after five middle-school students in Plymouth, Massachusetts, were hospitalized after consuming pot brownies on Friday.

The teen, whose name has not been released, is facing charges of possession of marijuana over once ounce and distributing marijuana.

Plymouth police said they received a call around 10:35 a.m. from the school resource officer at Plymouth South Middle School reporting that several students were experiencing "adverse effects" from consuming brownies.

Five males - ages 13 and 14 - were taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. They were treated and have since been released.
