Fire officials say the fire likely started in the produce section and was hot enough to trip the sprinklers

Crews are investigating and cleanup is underway after a two-alarm fire at a Shaw’s Supermarket in Canton, Massachusetts, filled the store with smoke early Wednesday morning.

Fire officials say the fire likely started in the produce section and was hot enough to trip the sprinklers.

There is extensive water damage in the produce section.

Canton Fire Chief Charles Doody said smoke filled the entire store and it is likely the supermarket will be closed for the remainder of Wednesday.

Doody said the fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious, but the cause of is under investigation.
