Authorities in Texas have arrested the suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead in Chelsea, Massachusetts, back in June.
Chelsea Police confirmed Friday that Texas Rangers took 34-year-old Jose Daniel Arevalo, an Everett resident, into custody outside Houston. He was wanted in the crash that killed 25-year-old Marco Salguero-Cruz on June 4.
Late last month, authorities released three new images of the suspect they believe was the driver. Previously, authorities had released video of the suspect vehicle, but it never led to any solid clues about the identity of the driver.
Authorities believe Arevalo fled to El Salvador two days after the incident, but that he was back in the U.S. in November.
Officials intend to return Arevalo to Massachusetts.
