Police in Burlington, Vermont, are searching for a man wanted in an attempted purse robbery and assault.
Police responded to S. Winooski Avenue and Cherry Street around 2 Monday morning.
The female victim said she and a male friend she was walking with were attacked by a man. The suspect was unsuccessful in grabbing her purse and assaulted the male victim.
The suspect fled the area and the male victim was transported to a hospital for non-life-threatening facial injuries.
Police say the suspect is a thin white male, about 25-30-years-old, about 5’5” – 5’9”, with short brown hair, wearing blue jeans and a flannel shirt.
