Man Surrenders After Tense Standoff With Police

A man in Manchester, New Hampshire, has been arrested following a tense standoff with police during which he barricaded himself in his home Wednesday, according to police.

Police received a report of a possible suicidal subject at a residence on Becker Street at 9:30 p.m.

Officials made contact with the man, Jeffrey Green, 36, who said he did not want police involvement and barricaded himself in his home.

An intervention specialist spoke with Green to have him leave the home in a peaceful manner. Green allegedly threatened to “come out shooting” if police remained on scene.

Shortly after, Manchester SWAT arrived on scene and crisis negotiators managed to get Green to surrender peacefully shortly after midnight on Thursday.

He was charged with criminal threatening and obstructing government administration. He will appear in court Thursday morning.
