Suspect Caught in Hit-and-Run That Killed 62-Year-Old Woman

The driver authorities believe struck and killed a 62-year-old woman Thursday in Massachusetts has been apprehended after fleeing, police said Friday.

Irina Hyde was leaving her job at a Braintree nursing home around 5 p.m. Thursday when she was hit at the intersection of Shaw and Commercial streets.

The beloved mother and grandmother was rushed to the hospital, where she died early Friday morning.

Police confirmed the driver's arrest around 7 p.m. Later Friday night, the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office identified him as 34-year-old Ryan Brady of Braintree.

The city's police chief tells necn officers scoured the city and found the car parked in an apartment complex Friday afternoon. The owner said her boyfriend had been driving it. Brady was questioned and arrested.

"I am crushed," the victim's husband, Tony Hyde, said. "She was the most wonderful person I knew."

Brady is charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death. He will face a judge Monday morning in Quincy District Court.
