Suspect in Gillette Weapons Stash Held on Bail

Matthew Bromson, 48, of North Granby was arrested Friday after someone reported a suspicious man at a stadium employee parking lot

A Connecticut man who police say had a stash of weapons in his parked car outside Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, will be held on $17,500 bail.

Matthew Bromson, 48, of North Granby was arrested Friday after someone reported a suspicious man at a stadium employee parking lot. He appeared in court Monday morning.

Inside his vehicle, police found swords, a meat cleaver and an electric stun gun.

Authorities say Bromson is not a stadium employee and was not at the stadium to see the Winter Classic hockey game between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins.

Police believe Bronson was drunk when they arrested him. The night before, he was kicked out of the America's Best Hotel across the street from the lot. According to police, he had been living out of his car.

In September 2014, Bromson was arrested after an eight-hour standoff with police. He was charged with threatening, harassment, breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.

Bromson decided not to waive extradition to Connecticut to face charges there.
