Suspect in Hit-and-Run Ordered Held Without Bail

Charles McKeen III, of Bourne, will remain jailed in Falmouth pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing

A Massachusetts man charged in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a 68-year-old man has been ordered held without bail.

The Cape Cod Times reports that 65-year-old Charles McKeen III, of Bourne, will remain jailed in Falmouth pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing.

Police say McKeen and an acquaintance argued before McKeen intentionally struck the man with a van and fled Sunday morning. The man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

McKeen turned himself in to Bourne authorities on Tuesday. He was charged with attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, reckless driving and related offenses.
