Suspect was in possession of $8,000 worth of heroin

A Portland, Maine, man was arrested for the unlawful trafficking of heroin valued at $8,000, according to responding DEA officials.

Frank Gerry, 43, was taken into custody on Friday following an investigation into his recent behavior. Upon arriving at 70 Forest Avenue, Gerry was found selling heroin out of a rented room at the YMCA there.

Gerry came to the door with several bags of suspected heroin after DEA agents came knocking. Gerry was arrested without incident for the possession of a banned Class B substance.
