Suspects Arraigned in Teen's Shooting Death

Danilo Soto and Alexander Soto are charged with gunning down 17-year-old Ryan Morrissey and 19-year-old James Lawton in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood back in November, killing Morrissey.

Two suspects were arraigned Thursday for the November murder of a teenager, and the non-fatal shooting of another, in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood.

Danilo Soto, 21, and 17-year-old Alexander Soto, who are not related, were both in court Thursday. Prosecutors say they shot and killed 17-year-old Ryan Morrisey outside of A-1 Convenience in Charlestown.

Prosecution went into full detail of how the suspects approached Morrissey and 19-year-old James Lawton outside the store and fired multiple shots at the victims.

Morrisey was shot in his torso and succumbed to his wounds four days later. Lawton was also shot and suffered major physical damage to his hand.

Prosecutors told the judge the suspects were able to be located due to their getaway car being parked outside of Julio Baez's mother's house.

Twenty-four-year-old Baez was arraigned Wednesday. He is accused of driving the getaway vehicle.

Prosecutors say they were also able to track the suspects' cell phones to the scene around the time of the shooting.

Danilo Soto is also charged in multiple cases with assault and battery and illegal firearm possession. He was already in custody before being charged with the shooting.

Both suspects arraigned Thursday were denied bail. They will both be back in court April 15.
