MBTA Commuter Train Evacuated in Westwood, Massachusetts, After Suspicious Package Found

An MBTA commuter train was evacuated Friday evening after a suspicious package was found.

The train, on the Stoughton Line, was stopped in Westwood.

The MBTA Commuter Rail tweeted in response to specific users that police evacuated the train while it was being evacuated.

The train was stopped for about 40 minutes before authorities determined a passenger had apparently left the bag on the train. Keolis, the company that operates the commuter rail, confirmed at 5 p.m. that everyone was safe.

Delays are expected after the incident.
