Teen Pleads Not Guilty to Sexual Assault

19-year-old Rashad Deihim of Saugus, Mass. is charged with violently assaulting a 16-year-old girl with his girlfriend while another teen recorded the attack and shared it on Snapchat

The allegations are horrific - 19-year-old Rashad Deihim of Saugus, Massachusetts, is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl with his girlfriend while another male teen videotaped the attack and distributed it on Snapchat.

Prosecutors say the victim was drunk or drugged while Deihim and 18-year-old Kailyn Bonia attacked her in the woods behind an elementary school in Saugus.

According to the prosecution, Bonia can be seen in the video wrapping her arms around the victim's neck and trying to open the girl's legs.

In Lynn District Court, Deihim pleaded not guilty to all of the charges, but seemed detached and defiant while the case was read.

Investigators only found out about the Sept. 3 assault because the unidentified 17-year-old male who police say took the video sent it that night via Snapchat to one of the victim's friends. She showed it to her dad, who immediately called police.

The victim was found, still in the woods, unconscious.

Deihim's parents say they were in court to support him, though his mother recently filed a complaint against her son, calling him violent and telling police she was afraid of him.

"We don't believe he did any of these things," said Deihim's father.
