A 19-year-old man has been arrested after police were alerted by school officials from Frontier Regional High in Deerfield, Massachusetts.
A credible threat was made via social media that included a re-enactment of Columbine at the school. Specific victims were named.
Frontier Regional High School, Deerfield Elementary School, and Sunderland Elementary Schools were placed into a "shelter in place" on Thursday.
Nicholas R. Schauer of 28 School St. in Sunderland, Massachusetts, is charged with threatening to commit a mass shooting, six counts of threatening to commit murder, and disturbing a school assembly.
Schauer has admitted that he had been researching past shooting incidents, feels a connection to them, and started planning an incident at Frontier Regional.
A dangerousness hearing has been requested by the Northwestern District Attorney's Office in order to hold Schauer.
