Teen, Woman Recovering Following Shootings in New Hampshire

Victims were in two separate, but nearby locations

Police in Manchester, New Hampshire, are investigating two shootings that left a teenager and a woman recovering with gunshot wounds on Saturday night.

Authorities were called to the Dollar Deluxe Store at 334 Union Street at about 8:50 p.m. where a 16-year-old boy was suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He told police that he and his friend had been at the nearby basketball courts when shots rang out. The victim didn't realize he had been shot until he got to the store after fleeing the courts.

The teen was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Around the same time, officers located a second victim at Down The Block Convenience at 167 Hanover Street. The victim, Elaine Dugas, 59, of Manchester, said she had heard multiple gunshots while she was sitting outside. She was struck on the top of her foot by a bullet.

Police said Dugas refused medical attention.

Witnesses told police they saw a man fleeing with a gun on Auburn Street after the shots were heard. He was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'5" in height and with short hair. The man had been wearing a white tank top and light blue jeans.
