The busiest travel days of the year are upon us and millions of people will be hitting the road or boarding an airplane this week.
Snow and rain will cause travel disruptions out west on Tuesday as a storm system moves over northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada.
Meanwhile in the Northeast, high pressure builds in on Tuesday, kicking off a stretch of dry weather and a gradual warming trend.
Although it will be quiet, a round of snow showers from northern Minnesota to western and northern New York state, northwestern Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio is possible into Tuesday.
In New England on Tuesday, bright sunshine will try to work its magic but will fall short. Highs will only top out in the upper 30s to low 40s yet again.
You can expect another beautiful (and slightly milder) day on Wednesday in the Northeast.
If you are flying to the Northern Plains or the Rockies you could encounter some delays due to inclement weather. A few showers are possible in Chicago, down to Texas and in Florida but not enough to cause major travel problems.

Thanksgiving Day and Friday still look dry for our region, but not as bright. On Thursday, stratocumulus clouds will fill the sky as warmer air pushes in bringing highs back into the 50s.
The next chance of rain or snow for New England is not until Friday night when a frontal boundary swings through. Some of the showers could end as a burst of snow on Saturday morning.
