Thief Leaves Wallet at Crime Scene

The suspect was charged with two counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and two counts of larceny under $250

Police in Massachusetts were able to track down a thief after his wallet was found near the scene of the crime.

The Norwood Police Department shared the story on their Facebook page Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched to Winslow Avenue early Friday morning after receiving reports of an individual breaking into motor vehicles in the area. A male suspect was found inside his car, but he was able to flee from police.

One victim approached police later that evening with the thief’s wallet, which had been left near the scene of the crime.

The victim had witnessed the suspect near the scene and was able to identify him as the same person pictured on the identification card found inside the wallet.

The suspect was charged with two counts of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and two counts of larceny under $250.

The police department left their fans a warning in their post to avoid being a victim of car theft.

“We don't always get this lucky folks. Remember to lock your car doors and bring all valuables inside your home.”
