Police Investigating After 3 Shot in Lynn, Massachusetts

The situation is under investigation

Three people were shot on Thursday morning in Massachusetts, police confirm.

Lynn Police say officers responded to a shooting that took place at Forest and Bullfinch streets around 3:40 a.m.

One man, described as in his early 20s, was found in the middle of the street with a with life threatening injuries to his head and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

"I just rolled down to the floor and prayed for the best until it stopped," neighbor Tara Whelan said. 

Another neighbor, Roger Melendez, said, "It's not the first time I've heard gun shots in this area, but last night I heard it really close...I looked out the window and I was like I'm not coming out." 

Minutes later, police received a call to Union Hospital, where two shooting victims with non-life threatening injuries had been taken.

The caller reported four shots were fired. 

Authorities say the shooting is under investigation, adding that it's not clear if these two incidents are releated even though the calls came in minutes apart.

No arrests have been made, and a suspect description was not available.
