Three Rescued From Merrimack River in Newburyport, Massachusetts

Firefighters were on scene Friday morning

Three people were rescued from the Merrimack River in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on Friday morning.

The Coast Guard confirmed the call came in around 7:30 a.m for a 32-foot pleasure craft that ran aground.

All three people rescued, two males and one female, suffered minor injuries. They were all taken to the Coast Guard station and then to a local hospital.

The Newbury and Salisbury Fire Departments responded as well.
