Thousands of dollars worth of tools were stolen from Habitat for Hamanity site in New Hampshire, hampering a five-year project in its home stretch, the Union Leader reported.

The president of Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity Elizabeth Rakich said thieves stole power tools, hand tools, ladders, a dehumidifier, a water pump and expensive LED light bulbs, among other items.

“If you can think of a tool at a job site, they took it,” Rakich told the Union Leader. “This is going to set us back.”

Rakich said Habitat for Humanity acquired the tools over the years; some were donated, others purchased. She estimated their value at $5,000.

The organization was its final stages of coverting a house on Hosley street into three condos.

Investigators said the theft took place sometime between Saturday and Monday morning and have launched an investigation.
