Tractor Trailer Carrying Glass Bottles Overturns

Part of I-91 in Vt. was temporarily closed Thurs. morning

An area of Interstate 91 in Brattleboro is back open after Vermont State Police said a tractor trailer carrying boxes containing thousands of glass bottles to be used for maple syrup overturned in a median.

Police said the driver, 30-year-old Matthew Howard of Enfield, New Hampshire, failed to successfully maintain control of the vehicle while trying to pass another one Wednesday. The road was snow-covered and he was driving in freezing rain.

The trailer was broken in half but Howard was not hurt.
